How to set yourself up for a good week
I feel this is something that is so important to have. I know it's easier said than done but in order to live a more organised life, it all resolves around planning and finding a routine that works for you. Whilst it's fun to switch things up and keep things fresh, life flows more smoothly when you have some kind of routine in place so you can manage your social and work life. Here are some simple tips to help you:
Make Sunday your reset day
I find Sunday’s are the perfect day to reset yourself before a new week. For me this includes doing my washing, meal prepping and replying to emails. It always helps to create yourself a to-do list on this day. Write down everything you need to do and prioritise your tasks, including both work related and personal. This will help you feel less stressed, and give you a clear structure to help you get through all your tasks.
Schedule in some time for yourself
During the week our schedules are often filled with meetings and lots of admin work. For me I find it so important to find time for myself on the weekend. Life is all about balance and self care is such a beautiful ritual that everyone should prioritise weekly. Some of my favourites are going out for dinner with friends, booking in for a sauna, taking my dog for a walk or doing a yoga flow.
Meal Prep
Meal prepping is so helpful when your short on time during the week to make a balanced meal. I find writing out a grocery list before going to the supermarket super helpful as it can stop you from buying things you don’t need. The easiest way to create a balanced and nourishing meal is by including protein, fats and carbohydrates. One of my favourite things to make is soups as you can pack so many nutrients into the one dish. My favourite dish at the moment can be found here
Organise your calendar
By doing this you’ll be able to see what you have coming up in the week. I find pre-planning my week so important to therefore not overwhelm myself. Some weeks are busier then others and it can be hard to find time to relax. When organising your calendar make sure you set realistic and achievable goals so you don’t end the week feeling burnt out and exhausted.
Plan your workouts
Doing some form of movement a day is so important for my mind and body before I sit down at my desk for most of the day. Whether you go to a studio or workout at home, it helps to plan out your workouts for the week ahead. This can also be a good time to catch up with friends and start your day on a positive note before work.
Reflect on your week
I find by doing this I’m able to be aware of what worked for me and what didn’t.
What made me feel good and what didn’t serve me.
Use this time to journal, meditate or stretch and figure out how you can make the following week even better.
Get a good nights sleep
Getting a good night's sleep is crucial for our health and wellbeing. It all starts with how you relax and wind down before bed. It's important to leave the week behind and ensure that you're in the right mindset, as this will improve the quality of your sleep and set you up for the week ahead.
